"I just can't stop loving you"

Michael Jackson's 1st Anniversary

I've been thinking about this post for the past three months, i knew i had to do at least a remembrance post but i wasn't sure what else to do.
So i thought i could do two mix tape (thingies) as in 1 would be Beautiful songs, and 2 powerful songs. My choices of what i would consider his most beautiful and emotional songs and then his most intense, powerful and inspirational songs.

Mix Tape 1

1. Childhood :- Album HIStory Vol.1 (disc 2) Released May 31st 1995. This song is really about Michael trying to tell us that he is different but he couldn't not be if you were raised as he was.

2. Gone too soon :- Album Dangerous Released December 6th 1995. This song was written after the death of a friend of Michael's Ryan white who came into the public eye after he was expelled from his school for having AIDS/HIV, who died in 1990. This song was also sung at Michaels memorial service by Usher.

3. Heal the world :- Album Dangerous + HIStory Vol. 1 released November 23rd 1992. Heal the world is all about the pain and suffering around the world and that people shoudn't just look the other way and that we should do as much as we can to help people who are in need.

4. Smile :- Album HIStory Vol.1 (disc 2)/Dangerous Released December 28th 1997. This song was originally written and sung by Charlie Chaplin, this song really touches me though because the first time it really stood out to me was when Michaels brother Jermaine Jackson at his memorial service, it was so heart felt and beautiful i love listening to it.

5. Will you be there :- Album Dangerous released June 28th 1993. Michael said on an Opera interview that he wrote the song whilst sitting in one of his trees on his Neverland Ranch.
I especially love the full version.

Mix Tape 2

1. Black or white :- Album Dangerous released november 8th 1991. Well i think that this song really explains itself, 'don't be ignorant, it doesn't matter if your black or white'.

2. Man in the mirror :- Album Bad/HIStory vol.1 released January 9th 1988. I think that this song is Michael kind of turning round and looking at himself surprised that he being who he is, is not doing more for the starving children/people on the streets (i dont quite understand it myself, i don't see how he could have done more) and then also telling people that if they change that bad thing about them it really could change the world.

3. Scream :- Album HIStory vol.1 released May 31st 1995. This song is obviously another song aimed straight at the damn tabloid press, this song is similar to 'leave me alone' another favorite of mine, but scream is much more aggressive and angry. I definitely love that the song is a duet with his sister Janet.

4. Tabloid junkie :- Album HIStory vol. 1 released September 29th 1995. Now this just like Scream is aimed at the tabloids, this song not only attacks the tabloid press but almost mocks them at the same time by saying things like "they say he's homosexual" in a mocking tone because its ridiculous.

5. Who is it :- Album Dangerous released august 31st 1992. Now i wouldn't say that this is a personal song about him because i would have to say he definitely concentrated on his music and later on his children much more than women, so its more of a general song for people that go crazy trying to find out who their unfaithful partner has been sleeping with.

6. They don't care about us :- Album HIStory vol.1 (disc 2) released April 1st 1996. Now this is a real tune, the funny thing about this song is the reception from the media as he got slammed for using the words jew and kike i mean for g** sake how on earth could anyone have seen michael jackson as a racist? Anyway i actually thought that the song was a hit at the government that they don't care enough about the people but now i'm not too sure.

My personal feelings of this anniversary are definitely mixed because people always say celebrate the persons life which i can understand he was a beautiful, strong, loving and extremely talented man but though out his life he suffered from his childhood where he was abused by his father then thrown into the spot light causing him to lose his childhood and then of course all the headlines about him being odd and getting Bubbles the chimp, sleeping in an oxygen chamber and all those things they either made up or over dramatized and finally the horrible ridicule about his intentions with children which frankly sickened me that they could destroy such an amazing man that way.
Then im angry still, like so so many of his fans are the fact that he was murdered! His life was cut short and taken from him, by his personal doctor i mean a doctor are they not supposed to take care of people and keep them healthy, Michaels family put their faith in him to take care of their son, brother and father and he destroyed that trust and took one of the worlds most kindest humanitarian that this world has ever seen, in a blink of an eye turning over a half a million peoples lives upside down around the world. People say the upside of his death is the amount his merchandise and everything has brought in around 1 billion pounds but, yes thats good but its not an upside i see no upside to his death.
That is pretty much what my feelings are today.
Well today i'm wearing one of my Michael T-shirts proud and to remind people i mean people who are not fans won't be able to forget because i'm sure there will be a lot of coverage of his anniversary on the TV.
Just had an idea, tell me what your best memories of Michael are!
Mine is, not a specific memory, but the amount of time i spent when i was young listening to his music, also just thought about the limited edition doll my mum got me when i was about seven, i loved it so much i took it everywhere which is why the clothes it has are sorta wrecked but i still have it just now its kept safe. lol (i actually spent over three hours on this post) By the way all the info on the songs is either from my knowledge or wikipedia and interviews with Michael.

To finally end this very long post PEACE OUT!
